a simple seersucker story
each month, my very favorite magazine REAL SIMPLE features "a trend worth trying." in the RS june 2011 issue (p.34), i was excited to read that the trend to try this summer is "cool seersucker." i have always loved seersucker - so classic, so simple and always awakening memories of summertime. seeing this trend in RS reminded me that i had purchased some seersucker fabric on sale back in march (with the good intention of learning to sew some summer pillows for our new porch. well...let's just say this SEW didn't happen.) but it did get me thinking about other ways to use the seersucker fabric. i decided to make some fun bracelets for summer...easy, cute, cheap & trendy!
after covering the plain wooden bracelet bangles (purchased from DIYbangles.com) with strips of seersucker fabric (taking a little help my glue gun of course), i decided to add a few fabric rosettes to some of the bracelets as a fun little detail. now if seersucker isn't your thing, just imagine these cute fabric covered bracelets in polka dot--hmmmmm... ;)

These bracelets are too cute! It is so funny...I saw a your favorite kids books listed on the sidebar..and thought...I bet..she's a teacher/or has been one! Flipped over to your bio. and I was right! I love meeting other teachers/former teachers in blogland!!
